Area

This part of Ireland must offer some of the finest  game angling anywhere in Europe. There are five salmon rivers, three large  and numerous smaller lakes – all within easy driving distance of Bangor. The Owenmore, a noted salmon river, is within walking distance. Nearby is the smaller Glenamoy river. For those who like fishing for salmon in lakes, Carrowmore lake is three miles away and a 40 minute drive will take you to Lough Beltra.  Lough Conn and Lough Mask are famous trout fisheries, while the renowned river Moy, probably the most famous salmon river in Ireland, is a short drive to Ballina.

With all this quality fishing around, the main problem is “Where do you start?” It would probably take a life time to explore everything, which is a very good reason to consider moving here!!
